I finally received my author copy today and am immensely grateful to Amazon for its outstanding support of independent writers. I also want to extend my gratitude to all of you who ordered the book during the recent Kindle promotion.

As a Canarian expatriate, I’ve been living and working in the UK for the past ten years. The journey of writing ‘The Fire Demon’ commenced in March 2020, right as the UK went into its first COVID lockdown. I made gradual progress, mostly on weekends, thanks in no small part to the blissful quietude of my suburban neighbourhood.
I am also lucky that my regular job allows me to spend at least one month per year in Gran Canaria, visiting family. This provided ample opportunity to revisit my favourite spots across the island and imagine these crazy spy stories.
The story of ‘The Fire Demon’ unfolds from December 24th to January 7th, so the local sunrise and sunset times in the book correspond to those days. While this tale can be enjoyed at any time of the year, it will never feel more authentic than when read on location during our balmy Christmas season.
Stay tuned for more tips on how to make the most out of this novel and your trip to Gran Canaria.
